Romantic Valentine’s Day Afternoon Tea Inspiration

For those of you who don’t know, the Valentine’s Day holiday actually has its origins in the Roman festival of Lupercalia, held in mid-February. The festival, which celebrated the coming of spring, included fertility rites and the pairing off of women with men by lottery! At the end of the 5th century, Pope Gelasius I replaced Lupercalia with St. Valentine’s Day. Luckily, the only tradition which remains today is that of romancing your partner!

What better way to do that by wooing your significant other this Valentine’s Day with an indulgent afternoon tea menu, filled with heart-shaped cakes, pink champagne or red velvet treats? In case you’re looking for any inspiration we’ve selected our top five favourite couple-friendly afternoon teas in London.

Park Grand, Lancaster Gate

Spoil your loved one this Valentine with our romantic Afternoon Tea at the Park Grand London Lancaster Gate. Indulge your special one by choosing from a collection of teas and coffee, a selection of finger sandwiches, tuna, chicken, cucumber and beet sandwiches, home baked treats and cakes served in the exquisite settings of Craven Lounge to spend a perfect Valentine’s Day! And if the weather is nice, you can enjoy this romantic afternoon experience outdoor.
